To support and represent the New Forest’s Visitor Economy and local businesses under an integrated strategy to ensure the sustainability of the New Forest as a great destination to visit, a high quality environment, a vibrant place to live, and a thriving tourism economy.
Over the last 30 years New Forest District Council has resourced and provided a comprehensive Tourism Service and led on all tourism policy and marketing predominantly through its partnership with New Forest Tourism Association (NFTA). From 3 April these services will be delivered by Go New Forest.
Go New Forest’s Business Plan is founded on the VERB model of destination management and will build on that successful 30 year legacy and continue to put the forest first in all local tourism by championing the needs and demands of visitors, the natural environment, residents and businesses in equal measure.
How we are funded
The main source of income for the CIC will be by providing services, activities and marketing support to local tourism businesses. New Forest District Council has also committed to provide grant funding to support Go New Forest in the first 3 years of its operation. The funding agreed is for NFDC to provide £100,000 in financial year 2017/18, £50,000 in 2018/19 and a final payment of £25,000 in 2019/2020.
