Job Outline
As part of the boatyard team you will be responsible for the day to day lifting, launching and storage of all vessels within the Buckler’s Hard Yacht Harbour. You will ensure all lifting equipment, plant and machinery are maintained and operated to the highest standards and inspections are undertaken in line with company policy and regulatory requirements.
As the Boatyard Operative you will ensure all works undertaken within the boatyard are accurately recorded and passed to the administration team to recover all revenues owed. Working with the Deputy Harbour Master and the boatyard team you will plan the positioning of boats within the yard to allow maximum capacity and the least amount of disruption to customers.
You and the Boatyard team will work towards maximising the efficiency of the boatyard assets in terms of generating activity and financial return, along with providing an excellent customer service at all times.
If you have experience of working within a boatyard environment and have certification in plant and equipment, equivalent to NPORS for boat hoist, boat mover, telehandler, forklift truck, banksman/slinger we would like to hear from you.
You must have your own transport due to limited public transport being available in the area. A uniform will be provided. The hours or work are 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with occasional weekend working.
